Are you arranging a Conference or Team Building event in Bristol?
A visit to Clifton Suspension Bridge, one of the most iconic sights in the city will give your delegates a chance to relax, network - and get an insight into the history of Bristol. Ensure positive memories of your event with a tour - or send your employees underground to explore the Leigh Woods Vaults.
If you're planning on bringing a large group to the bridge, you can book a 45 minute - 1 hour guided tour at any time by arrangement.
Although you won’t see any parts of the bridge that aren’t open to the public, you’ll hear about the competition to design the bridge, a project plagued with problems and how the end result differed from the original design. We’ll tell you about Brunel and his family, explain how a suspension bridge works and how people crossed the gorge before it was built. You’ll hear some amazing stories about the people who used and maintained the bridge and the things we do in winter to keep it working!
The Clifton Suspension Bridge Hard Hat Tour is a two hour experience suitable for groups of twelve which begins at the Clifton Toll Booth on the Bristol side of the bridge. During the tour, you will learn about the construction and discovery of the huge red brick abutments which support the bridge towers before donning a hard hat and high vis jacket and exploring two of the twelve vaulted chambers inside the Leigh Woods abutment. A shorter version of this tour can also be arranged. (Attendees must not be under the influence of alcohol: we'd advise participation before any networking events.)
