We are very excited to have signed up our Youngest Volunteer here at the Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre!

Charlie is the grandson of Sylvia Weston who has been a member of our volunteer team for several years. Sylvia mentioned that Charlie is very interested in the Bridge and asked if he could work with her on a shift.  The pair joined forces this May to work together as our Front of House morning volunteer team.

Charlie, age 10, has written some words for our blog about why he recommends a stop off at the Visitor Centre and what he enjoys about volunteering:

My name is Charlie and I am 10 years old.  All around the Visitor Centre are facts to do with Brunel, the Clifton Suspension Bridge and even the caves underneath the tower! Upstairs in the Education Room you can have a lot of fun building bridges. I had fun building a suspension bridge.

I also enjoyed watching the film. I learned loads!

I recommend the Visitor Centre to all ages because there are things to do for children and adults.

When I volunteer here the think I enjoy most is working the till, counting in the number of visitors and telling visitors what they can see and do here.

We think Charlie did a fantastic job!

If you are interested in volunteering why not get in touch? You could come and volunteer with your family - there are plenty of tasks and roles to do!  To find out more contact our CLV Officer, Helen on getinvolved@cliftonbridge.org.uk or call her at the Visitor Centre on 0117 974 4664.
